Like those Stahlwille tools made in germany Smile Snap on, can ya beat the yanks in "Over Built" ?

On the budget side find that Powerbuilt has a nice feel to it and finish, good old Fuller Pro with the life time guarantee.

Snap-On seem to be the ones most highly regarded here.

My pick is Powerbuilt, there range is getting greater and the finish is up there with Snap-On and the rest. I wont even touch Sidchrome anymore. The best thing about the Powerbuilt Spanners is the offset on the ring end, it's brilliant.

Im sure there are a few backyard mechanics here, that can relate to the feeling when you think you've got a good grip on the shaft, and it suddenly slides off your nuts.....or ya bolts... Mr. Green

Yeah and the blood looks red-der than red poking through the grease and oil Very Happy

Sidchrome no good anymore ? Shocked Looking back the finsih on their socket sets were never that great, just big heavy cast rubbish, were a step up from those $10 jobbies back in the day though.

Are we going to hear from "The Trade Mechanic" what he thinks are the best or is he that good he just uses his bare hands to turn "His nuts" Very Happy ?

I bought about $1000 worth of Powerbuilt tools from spanners to socket sets to screw drivers and blah blah blah etc. We worked it out to be the equivalent of $3500 worth of Sidchrome and $24.8mil worth of Snap-On..

You cant even buy Sidchrome anymore in most places. Even Repco has gone Powerbuilt mad.

What about Whitworth Spanners Rob, you would have no doubt had a few of them back in the good ol day's. I still got a couple of those babies hangin around, that come in handy for those "what size are those nuts" backyard jobs.

I sold all the non-metric toys. Only German, Italian, and Japanese now. One set of spanners. Great. Mr. Green

In the Christmas junk mail Mitre 10 are selling SIDCHROME tools so they are still the best in our end of the world.
